Kerrs of Dartford

Rapid wire system at Kerrs

Mr Bernard Williams, the last owner of Kerr's Drapers, 6 High Street, Dartford operating the Lamson Rapid Wire propulsion.

According to Proctor, the system was installed in 1900 and rented from Lamsons for seventy years before Kerrs purchased it for half a crown (£0.125).

Catapult and carriage

Close-up of the car and propulsion. Presumably the green paint is so that this cup could be distinguished from others. The photographs above show green and red cups. I have not seen them painted elsewhere.
